"Walking the space"
The black box theater smells like sweat and feet, but it also felt bright and confirmed. There was a feeling of darkness and brightness at the same time. it kind of felt empty of life. The things I could hear were Sophia's feet banging against the wall and the AC and footsteps of classmates around me. Most of the surfaces in the room where either wood or plastic, and painted black. The black box theater compared to behind the field house and the rest of the outdoor spaces were very different.
Behind the field house smells like garbage, because we were near the garbage dump but it also had a nice fresh air breeze. I could hear it cars on the road and birds and cicadas. I could smell exhaust and freshly cut grass. it felt so much more lively than inside the black box.
At the football field it was very blue because of the blue track and blue sky and blue signpost so therefore the main color theme was blue. It was quite windy on the football field and you could hear sirens and cicadas. It almost zoo-like because here we were standing behind the net watching just one boy play football. We were all on one side of the net and it was just him on the other.
The park in front of the field house was green and happy with long grass. It was very lively and beautiful. You could hear the scuff of shoes on the sidewalk and cars and sirens.
Something interesting I noticed was the difference from inside a man-made structure to outside in nature. The man-made structure felt cold and unwelcoming and outside it was sunny and bright and beautiful and and the nature kind of drew you outside, drew you to look out of a window. A pattern I noticed in the 3 outside locations that you can smell freshly cut grass no matter where you were standing. you could hear the cicadas. With so much more beauty outside than inside in the dark room. Inside, you could say it was almost depressing given the black room, the silence. outside you could hear nature, the birds the cicadas good see the green trees and leaves. I enjoyed being outside in this activity more than inside.
